Lung LUNG_ESSENCE_DEF

Lung Essence Deficiency

💊 Treatment principle: Strengthen Lung Essence, build resistance.

Description

Shortness of breath, weak voice and reduced resistance.

Clinical features

Shortness of breath on exertion, weak voice, reduced resistance to colds, pale face, fatigue, pale tongue, deep pulse.

🏥 Scientific research

Western understanding:

Lung Essence deficiency correlates with chronic respiratory weakness, susceptibility to infections, and fatigue. Characterized by weak voice, frequent colds, and a weak pulse.

Research evidence:

Multiple randomized controlled trials (RCTs) support acupuncture for these patterns. Cochrane reviews show moderate to strong evidence for acupuncture in chronic pain, digestive disorders, and cardiovascular conditions. Systematic reviews confirm efficacy for respiratory diseases and urinary disorders. Evidence quality varies by condition. Large-scale RCTs recommended for specific pattern differentiation.
